Strengthening Relationships, Embracing Innovation, and Exploring Sustainability

At JEC World 2025 in Paris, Permali had the chance to engage with the broader composite industry, learn about emerging technologies, and reinforce our commitment to improving sustainability. The event was a fantastic platform for building relationships, exploring new ideas, and staying ahead of industry trends.

Fostering Strong Relationships and Collaborations

During their visit, Callum Gallop, Materials Engineer, and Ibtihaaj Koleoso, Materials Engineer Intern, focused on building and strengthening relationships across the industry. JEC 2025 offered a great platform to meet with suppliers, collaborators, and industry leaders to share insights and discuss future developments.

“As always, meeting with colleagues in the industry and exploring new opportunities for collaboration is vital to staying ahead,” said Callum Gallop. “JEC gives us the chance to engage with experts and exchange ideas that help shape the direction of our work in the composites industry.”

Sustainability as a Driving Force

A key theme throughout JEC 2025 was the increasing focus on sustainability in composite materials and manufacturing. This shift aligns with Permali’s ongoing commitment to producing materials that are not only high-performing but also more environmentally responsible.

“We saw a lot of exciting developments in areas like natural fibres, energy-efficient manufacturing, and bio-based resources,” said Ibtihaaj Koleoso. “Sustainability is becoming integral to the entire lifecycle of composite products, from design and manufacturing to end-of-life, and it’s clear that this focus will continue to grow in importance.”

Other themes included innovations in automation and robotics, both of which are making manufacturing processes more efficient and reducing waste—essential steps towards a greener future in the industry.

Innovations and Trends Shaping the Future

JEC 2025 also featured exciting technological advancements, particularly in additive manufacturing, rapid prototyping, and the development of large-scale moulds. These innovations are changing the way composite parts are designed and produced, offering new opportunities for faster, more efficient manufacturing.

“The demonstrations around additive manufacturing were particularly impressive,” said Callum. “They highlighted the potential for more rapid design cycles and tailored solutions, which could really enhance the flexibility of composite production.”

The Rise of SMEs and Start-ups

The event also showcased the growing influence of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), like Permali, and start-ups. These companies are pushing the boundaries of innovation in the composite industry, introducing fresh ideas and novel approaches that are paving the way for new materials and technologies.

Networking and Knowledge Sharing

JEC 2025 offered an invaluable opportunity to network with industry groups such as the National Composites Centre (NCC) and Composites UK. These connections provide a wealth of knowledge and insights that help keep Permali at the forefront of the industry.

“Attending JEC 2025 allowed us to connect with leading institutions and exchange ideas on the latest developments in research and materials,” added Ibtihaaj. “These conversations are essential for staying informed and aligned with the future of the composite industry.”

Looking to the Future

As Permali continues to innovate and push boundaries in composite materials, attending JEC 2025 was a key moment for Permali to further its commitment to exploring sustainability, efficiency, and technological advancements. By embracing these changes and staying engaged with the latest trends, we look forward to delivering cutting-edge solutions and maintaining our position as a trusted partner in the composites industry.

“Attending JEC 2025 has been an invaluable experience, and we’re eager to take the insights gained here and apply them to our current and future projects at Permali,” said Callum. “By embracing the latest innovations and practices, we can continue to deliver high-quality, forward-thinking solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients and the industry.”

“For me, JEC 2025 was my first international composites exhibition, and it was incredibly eye-opening,” said Ibtihaaj. “It’s motivating to know that we can bring these ideas back to Permali and be part of shaping the future of the composites industry in such a meaningful way.”
