A composite material is made by combining two or more materials with different physical or chemical properties to produce something stronger, lighter or more durable than the parts on their own. A typical composite has a reinforcement, such as glass or carbon fibres, held within a matrix, such as a resin, so the finished material keeps the best qualities of each. Permali has manufactured high performance composites since 1937, including its glass reinforced Permaglass laminates.
