  • Inspection

Independent inspection function

Permali operates an independent inspection function staffed by quality-assurance personnel. All inspection equipment is calibrated to national standards.

Inspection capability
Articulated CMM arm
A state-of-the-art, multi-axis system that verifies manufactured component dimensions and tolerances. This flexible technology enables on-site, 3D measurement directly on the shop floor.
Linear inspection equipment
Highly accurate tools and sensors that measure physical dimensions along a single, straight axis to verify properties like length and thickness against extreme design tolerances.
Reverse engineering
We reconstruct the complex fibre layouts and geometry of existing lightweight structures, creating a digital model to replicate and improve the ply layup, material properties and manufacturing process.
Calibration
Our manufacturing equipment maintains exact temperature, pressure and geometric tolerances. This accuracy prevents structural defects and guarantees safety-critical composite compliance.
  • Testing

Testing standards we work to

  • Frequently asked

Questions Permali’s compliance team field most often

Five question-and-answer pairs, each rendered as an accordion item on the live page and marked up as FAQPage schema for rich-result eligibility.

Is Permali AS9100D certified?

Yes. AS9100D is the globally recognised Quality Management System (QMS) standard designed specifically for the aviation, space and defence (ASD) industries. Prepared by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG), it takes the entire framework of ISO 9001 and supplements it with stringent aerospace-specific requirements to ensure product safety, reliability and regulatory compliance.

What inspection and traceability does Permali provide on defence programmes?

Permali operates under a stringent quality management framework specifically tailored to meet the mission-critical demands of global defence and aerospace prime contractors. Because our advanced composites are used in safety-critical applications like vehicle spall liners, naval flight decks and aircraft cockpit doors, our inspection and traceability processes cover the entire lifecycle from raw chemicals to delivered components.

Which standards does Permali test ballistic and blast-resistant composites to?

Permali tests its anti-ballistic and blast-resistant advanced composite materials to a comprehensive range of NATO, military, aerospace and commercial standards. We utilise our own on-site laboratory for mechanical and flammability testing, and official ballistic trials are conducted at independent, UK Ministry of Defence (MoD)-approved testing ranges.

Does Permali hold Cyber Essentials Plus?

Yes. Cyber Essentials Plus is a UK government-backed, industry-supported accreditation that verifies an organisation’s baseline cyber-security posture via an independent, hands-on technical audit.

Is Permali JOSCAR registered for UK MOD work?

Yes. JOSCAR (Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register) registration is a collaborative supplier assurance and pre-qualification system used by major prime contractors in the aerospace, defence and security sectors. Administered by Hellios Information, it acts as a centralised repository where supplier compliance data is collected, validated and updated.
